Sixth Inning Plays Key Role In Trion Blow Out Over Bowdon
Trion defeated Bowdon 9-2 on Wednesday thanks to a timely six runs in a big sixth inning. Hagen Willingham, Brier Ingle, Blaine Woody, Brandon Dover, and Noah Edgeworth each had RBIs in the big inning.
Trion opened up scoring in the first inning, when Woody singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Bowdon evened things up at two in the top of the third inning when Raymond singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Trion pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Andy Allen doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Trion notched six runs in the sixth inning. Willingham, Ingle, Woody, Dover, and Edgeworth all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Logan Bicknell got the start for Trion. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out seven.
Estes started the game for Bowdon. He surrendered five runs on six hits over five innings, striking out five. Raymond, Bowen, and Cole each contributed in relief for Bowdon.
Trion totaled nine hits. Edgeworth and Woody each managed multiple hits for Trion. Woody and Edgeworth each managed two hits to lead Trion. Trion was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ingle had the most chances in the field with seven.
